Dubai cancels New Year's Eve

All celebrations of "Western" New Years Eve tonight in Dubai have been cancelled on the orders of the Ruler: http://www.gulfnews.com/nation/Government/10271287.html
No word from the other Emirates at this point on whether they will follow Sheikh Mohammed's lead.
